Baby care

Baby care involves ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of an infant, especially during the critical early stages of life. Here’s an overview of key aspects of baby care:

1. Feeding

Newborns: Feed breast milk or formula every 2–3 hours.

Breastfeeding Tips:

Ensure a proper latch to avoid nipple pain.

Alternate breasts to ensure balanced feeding.

Formula Feeding:

Prepare bottles with sterile water and follow instructions.

Introduce solid foods around 6 months, depending on readiness.

2. Sleeping

Newborns sleep 14–17 hours daily, often in 2–3 hour intervals.

Follow safe sleep practices:

Lay the baby on their back in a crib with a firm mattress.

Avoid blankets, pillows, or toys in the crib to reduce SIDS risk.

3. Hygiene

Diapering:

Change diapers every 2–3 hours or when wet/soiled.

Clean the area with wipes or warm water and apply diaper cream to prevent rashes.

Bathing:

Bathe 2–3 times a week using lukewarm water and baby-safe soap.

Keep the umbilical cord stump dry until it falls off.

Clean the baby’s face, neck, and folds daily with a damp cloth.

4. Health and Safety

Vaccinations: Follow your pediatrician's vaccination schedule.

Regular check-ups to monitor growth and development
